We got Married

Craig and I got married exactly
{one} month ago today.

To celebrate we went to Magleby's for dinner and will watch
Diary of a Wimpy Kid here shortly.

Although the food was not my favorite we had fun
sitting out on the patio and playing our own impromptu
version of pictionary.

Craig makes me laugh and always has my back.
For these among other reasons I love being married.

But let us rewind a bit to the wedding day....

It was a beautiful day. I am so pleased with how everything turned out. I loved my decorator and photographer so the reception was gorgeous and I have great pictures to remember it all by.

My dearest friend Hillary did my hair. She rocks. Nicole (friend) added the sleeves to my dress. {Gorgeous}

The actual day of went very smoothly, considering I had been a stress ball leading up to the wedding, I was calm and ready to get hitched.

The sealing was at 3 pm so we got to sleep in. I will admit I don't remember much from the sealing because I was really hot. But I do remember the important part of kneeling across the alter from Craig and feeling an intense love for him and knowing that I was doing the right thing.

Thank you wonderful family and friends who spent so much time helping with setting up and all
other things that might have gone unnoticed.
I felt so loved having everyone there to
support Craig and I.

We love you all.

Thanks a million.

Kittens and a Basset Hound

I had a dream last week that I had a bunch of kittens and a basset hound.
I have been thinking
about
kittens and puppies
a lot lately.

It's bad.
The other day I saw a baby at DI and
I turned to Brooke and said

"I want a puppy so bad!"

Yes I think of puppies when I see children.
I don't think the mother appreciated my comment.

Look how cute he is!

{This is just funny}

I'll have to start with a kitten first but
hopefully get my basset hound
soon!

And I'll name him Copper

Birthdays and Proposals

I am now 22 years old :)
and I would say this has been the
best birthday yet.

I worked most of the day so it started out dull except for the fact
that my dear friend Katie made me
the most DELICIOUS cake known to mankind.

And then yummy lunch with
Lanu at the cougareat :)

After work Craig picked me up from work

He said he was thinking we could go to dinner and then to a jazz concert up in Park City.
I made a face at that so he quickly changed plans to something else... a surprise.

Jazz...please!

After that Kenzie, Cassie, and I went to go get the traditional birthday pedicure. So nice, but it took way longer than we thought and we weren't done til 8. I can only imagine how Craig was feeling about me pushing back our dinner date :)

Finally Craig and I went to dinner at Los Hermanos.
We had a strawberry lemonade, which was the 1st thing that changed my life that night.
SO DIVINE!!!

After he told me what our next plans were.
We were going to roast star bursts and other candies up the mountain and dance. Since I love to dance and he knows it.

So we go up to this park on the mountain that looked out on the city lights. It was perfect and in my head I was thinking... he should take me up here again when he actually proposes.

**Side note: I really wanted him to propose but I honestly did not think he would.
Here is why:
  • He didn't wear the pants that I love on him that he always wears on special occasions
  • He acted like he had no clue what we would do that night
  • The so called "Jazz concert"
  • I had mentioned before that I did not want to be proposed to on my birthday, only to retract the statement later and he got upset about me not letting him do it his own way (I now know why. Ooops)**
Back to the story...
The view was beautiful but it was windy and cold, so we didn't dance. Instead we snuggled up until we got the fire going.

After awhile Craig says that he doesn't like the fire...
"Craig I don't think any more twigs will make it easier to roast things"

"Well I just don't like the fire, I'll be back."

While he goes off to get more "twigs" for the fire I notice he takes his backpack
with him. I'm still clueless just assuming he must plan on bringing back more sticks than he can carry...

While he is gone I continue scrounging through our bag
of candies when I notice him crouched down with
flowers in his hand.
(He is actually kneeling but the slant of the mountain makes
it look more like a crouch)

My first thought is oh he picked flowers off the mountain side.
I vocalize the "Ohhhhh..." in a high pitched sing songy voice.

Then I notice the ring and the Ohhh... turns into a
"oh."
as I realize he is on one knee with a ring.
Oh my gosh this is actually happening.

*Caution romance ahead*

"Kelsey, I love you and I want to spend the rest of my life you.
Will you marry me?"

pause, pause

"YES!!"

I'm totally shaking at this point and my heart is racing.
It was the best feeling ever.
Then we spent the next 10 min trying to find the flashlight so
I could see the ring.

There was a lot of hugging and kissing and me jumping up and
down in the midst of the searching of the flashlight.

I am so so happy.
It was worth the wait.

Then we made some phone calls and
told our family.
My mom was half asleep so I had to retell her the next day :)

Then I got to tell my roommates.
There was A LOT of screaming and jumping.

{Recreating the moment}

I can't wait to be Mrs. Pearson
